Parking down at the abbey was a no-no due the sheer amount of people out enjoying the holiday sunshine, so the alternative was to park further along at the Strid Wood Tea Rooms, and to walk back down towards the abbey. Web6 miles (9.5 km) This walk follows the Dales Way and the River Wharfe from Ilkley to Addingham and Bolton Abbey. The route runs along a lovely section of the river with great views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales countryside to enjoy on the way. It's about a 6 mile walk on fairly flat, waymarked footpaths.
